Danger tree removal along Mamquam Road set to begin January 7

Work will soon be underway on the removal of danger trees along Mamquam Road in Garibaldi Estates. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 7 and is expected to take up to two weeks.

The danger trees are predominantly deceased Maple and Cottonwood trees, or trees with defects such as large cavities and root rot. Some trees will be modified to remove large dead branches that are hanging over Mamquam Road. Nearly all coniferous trees such as Western Red Cedar and Douglas Fir trees will remain standing.

Please expect single lane alternating traffic and intermittent full lane closures on Mamquam Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Street parking on Mamquam Road east of Highlands Way South will be impacted for the first week of the project. Please obey all signage and use caution in the area. Thank you for your patience while this work is underway.
