Delegated Application List

About Delegation

Provincial laws let Squamish Council delegate approval of minor projects to the General Manager. Delegation is a tool the Squamish Council can use to ‘right-size’ the process for smaller projects. The following examples are projects that would be good candidates for delegated approval:

  • Community gardens;
  • Facelifts to commercial buildings downtown (new paint, canopies, material);
  • Temporary Use Permits for small structures.

Minor projects with delegated approval still need to submit applications and undergo technical review. However, the application fees are reduced, and projects don’t need to wait for a scheduled Council meeting for approval. Instead, once they have met all of their respective Development Permit Area Guidelines, the General Manager can issue approval without delay.
