Heavy rain expected for Howe Sound tonight and tomorrow

weather alert has been issued by Environment Canada for Howe Sound.

A strong moisture-laden system off the Pacific will bring heavy rain to the south coast tonight. Rain (expected 50 to 70 mm) along with gusty winds (up to 70 km/h) will begin this evening. The rain is expected to intensify throughout the night and continue throughout the day tomorrow while the gusty winds are expected to ease off before morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
