Bulk Water Usage

Three Non-Potable Bulk Water Fill Stations have been established at Brennan Park near Field 5/concession stand, Hendrickson Fields on Loggers Lane (east) and at Mount Garibaldi Cemetery on Government Road in Brackendale to make water more conveniently available to customers with water-hauling trucks, from May 1 to October 31. Non-potable bulk water fill stations reduce strain on the District’s drinking water system during the summer months when daily water consumption increases substantially.

Use of District and/or private fire hydrants is not permitted. Bulk water fill stations minimize the potential for contamination of the public water supply, reduce discoloured water events associated with hydrant usage, and ensure that all water delivered through the system is metered wherever possible. Reserving hydrants for the use of the Fire Department only, ensures these life-safety assets are always available and working properly in the event of a fire.

Where potable water is necessary, or when non-potable water is unavailable, two Potable Bulk Water Fill Stations are available to customers with water-hauling trucks on Clarke Drive in Valleycliffe and on Production Way in the Business Park.

Non-Potable Stations

Non-potable stations are available 24/7 from May 1 to October 31.

Public Works: 39909 Government Road
Summer hours: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Potable Stations

The District encourages the use of non-potable water whenever possible. Customers must demonstrate that non-potable water is not suitable for given use and must get approval from Public Works senior management to use potable bulk water.

How to apply and pay

A pin number to access the fill station will be issued upon receipt of a completed “Bulk Potable Water Request Form” and payment for a minimum 10 cubic metres at $39.14/cubic metre. Access to the station is not transferable between vehicles. Payment can be made by cheque, cash, or debit at the Development Services counter at Municipal Hall.  Please visit "Forms and Resources" to download the request form.

How to use the station

The discharge pipe at each location is equipped with a 2.5 inch hydrant port fitting.  Only top-filling tanks are permitted and hoses must be clean and dedicated for water use only.  Water dispensed is potable.  District staff will instruct you about proper procedure, and staff must approve your apparatus.

With a pin number and key, the station is accessible 24/7.
