Things will look a lot different at Brennan Park Recreation Centre as a new phase of construction is now underway. This is the second of several phases of construction planned over the next two years to retrofit the building. Signage has been installed to help guide patrons through the facility and customer service staff are at their stations to help smooth your way. We look forward to sharing updates as work progresses! Important Updates

Notice of Pool Closure - Wednesday, February 12

After a recent safety inspection, Vancouver Coastal Health has determined that the Brennan Park Pool deck does not meet the required anti-slip standards for wet surfaces and has ordered an immediate pool closure until further notice as a health and safety precaution. Vancouver Coastal Health treats facility closures as high priority given the impacts and importance to the community. District staff are working to remedy the slipping hazard and minimize the length of closure. We understand that residents will feel frustrated by this situation, and we are doing everything we can to re-open quickly and safely. Thank you for your patience while we work through this process.

Steam Room Closed

Following a report from a patron who slipped in the steam room, the District is conducting an assessment of the slip-resistance of the tiled surfaces within the steam room and pool area. Vancouver Coastal Health is advising staff through this process.

The steam room will unfortunately remain closed until a full assessment is complete and next steps are determined. Recognizing the importance of the steam room to the community, this work is being prioritized.

Restricted Access to Auditorium

Starting on Monday, January 13, access to the auditorium from the east (Arena) entrance lobby will be restricted as phase two of construction progresses. Temporary accessible and non-accessible washrooms will be available along the south wall outside the auditorium.

We kindly ask patrons to use the south entrance to access the auditorium until further notice. Wayfinding signage will be in place to assist you. Thank you for patience and understanding as we work to improve the space!

Recreation Access Program

What is the Recreation Access Program (RAP)?

The 2024 RAP allows Squamish residents who are in financial need to access Recreation Services registered programs at a 50% discount. Eligibility requirements, as determined by the Director of Recreation, must be met in order to qualify for RAP. Limited to two Recreation Access Program participants per program.

Squamish Gymnastics Membership
The purchase of a Squamish Gymnastics Membership at the time of registration is a requirement for participation in all Squamish Gymnastics programs. Please complete the membership form at the following link and submit within 48hrs of registration to: [email protected] or to the drop-box outside the gym at Brennan Park.

Risks/Waiver
An assumption of Risks/Waiver Form is required for each registered child AND for each adult accompanying a child in a parent participation program. Please note: Adult waivers should be completed as though the adult is the 'participant'.
