Development Cost Charge and Building Permit fee exemptions for secondary suites and carriage houses

Did you know? As an incentive for property owners to create additional rental housing on their properties, the District of Squamish has launched a pilot project to temporarily waive Development Cost Charges and Building Permit Fees related to installation of a Secondary Suite or portion of the living space related to a secondary suite/carriage house - which could result in a potential savings of as much as $3,000 to $5,000.

These exemptions are expected to be applicable until early 2019 and are subject to change. For more information please contact the Building Department
