Campfire ban lifted

Following the Province of B.C.’s lift of a campfire fire ban across the Coastal Fire Centre, Squamish Fire Rescue has lifted the Campfire Ban in Squamish as of 12 noon on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Recent wetter conditions have resulted in a decreased wildfire risk and therefore prompted the lift. More rain is in the forecast.

Please be reminded that a Fire Permit is required in order to have a backyard fire. All current backyard campfire permits are reinstated and new applications are now being accepted. You may apply for a permit online here.

The Province’s full release along with a map of the area where the campfire prohibition has been lifted may be viewed here.
