High Streamflow Advisory for the South Coast has ended
The River Forecast Centre is ending a High Streamflow Advisory for the South Coast including:
- Howe Sound including the Squamish River, Stawamus River and surrounding creeks and tributaries
- Sunshine Coast including streams around Gibsons, Sechelt and surrounding areas
- North Shore Mountains includingthe Seymour River and surrounding creeks and tributaries
- Fraser Valley includingthe Chilliwack River and surrounding creeks and tributaries
The region experienced heavy rainfall over the past three days, with total rainfall amounts of 60-250 mm being observed across the South Coast. Rainfall rates have now eased, and river levels are receding. No significant additional rises in river level are expected at this time.
The River Forecast Centre will continue to monitor conditions and will update the advisory as conditions warrant.
