Budget 2015

Council has been discussing and deliberating the proposed Financial Plan for the past few months and have developed a draft 2015 budget that helps support their draft strategic priorities.

Based on the latest draft of the 2015 - 2019 Financial Plan Report, a 3.6% increase in revenues from property taxes is needed.  View an overview of the 3.6% increase and what it means for taxpayers.

The District of Squamish kicked off its 2015 budget deliberations on Monday, February 23, 2015. Council worked through multi-day budget workshops, with budget materials brought forward by staff, to understand what the 2015 budget comprises.

The multi-day Council Committee of the Whole (budget workshop) agendas can be viewed:

As a slo pitch player and property owner, I would urge council to pass the motion on the Hendricks Lights proposal. The slo pitch community has already raised $150k to support the lights and needs our town to help us realize this opportunity. Let's show our neighbouring towns that we support all outdoor recreation!

i am in favor of putting in lights at the henricksons baseball fields. It would greatly benefit fall ball, as we often run out of light. It would also allow slo pitch to move from the elementary school fields and have two game times at henrickson instead. It would also benefit tournaments as thee could be games scheduled for later in the day as well.
The investment will be well worth it both for current slo pitch and future slo pitch as. Well as tournaments. They could also be useful for live at Squamish events.

I am strongly in favor of putting lights on the Hendrickson fields. It would make fall ball a much better time for all partisapents. Please note that there will always be strong support for slo pitch in Squamish and the lights will greatly benefit future players as well as the present league members. It would also allow slo pitch to switch from using the school field to putting two game times at the henricksons when needed.

I would like to see some money spent on the improvement of the Squamish BMX track. Our local team has been a championship team in the past and we host the top female rider in Canada as well as a lot of the top riders in many of the classes, boys and girls. As an Olympic event and a popular way for kids to advance their riding skills this would help the community and show that we are truly the best place to be. The venue is host to national and provincial races and many Americans come up to ride the track. An all volunteer group op people put a lot of effort into maintaining the track, but now it needs some help with new soil and a permanent place to be. Heavy equipment for a short period of time and we will have a venue that can be updated to where it should be for our community. Thank you ..
