Sidewalk Usage

The District of Squamish permits the extension of sidewalk café patios, parking stall patios, and sidewalk sales areas, onto District-owned sidewalks or parking stalls at no cost, through the traffic bylaw.

The licence agreement and a link to the traffic bylaw are available below.

To obtain a licence for a sidewalk café, please provide two copies of a detailed site plan drawn to scale of the restaurant, the sidewalk café and the adjacent sidewalk and curb, clearly showing all exits, outside tables and chairs, bus zones, parking, landscaping and any other District street furniture to a distance of 15 feet on either side of the restaurant footage.

If the site plans are approved, a licence agreement is required between your business and the District to legitimize your occupation of the sidewalk or parking stall.
