Final Event of the Downtown Squamish Summer Series this weekend

The District of Squamish Downtown Summer Series hosts its final event this Sunday, September 29. ‘Jam at the Pavilion’ is the fourth installment of the series, a District initiative to draw residents and visitors into the streets of downtown. The series of events was developed as part of the Downtown Transformation initiative launched earlier this year.

“Events bring vibrancy and enhance the social and cultural fabric of a community,” says District of Squamish Mayor Rob Kirkham. “The Summer Series events have offered the community new opportunities to interact with one another in the downtown environment and it has been great to see so many people come out to participate.”

Jam at the Pavilion will be held rain or shine at Pavilion Park this Sunday, September 29from noon to 5 p.m. and will offer an all-ages community-wide celebration of world-class mountain bike trial riders, magic stars and children’s activities.

There will be plenty of fun for kids old and young with such activities as crafts, face painting, balloons and magic tricks performed by Vancouver Magician Matthew Johnson, beginning at noon.

The tricks continue with the world-class bicycling talent of two of North America's top bike trial riders who will wow the crowd with a high-energy demonstration of stunts and skills at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

For the music fans, Whistler's "Best Band" The Hairfarmers will be rocking the stage from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing an energetic soundtrack of crowd favorites from their repertoire of over 2,500 hits.

Admission is free. For more information visit the Facebook event page
