Consumer fireworks not permitted on Canada Day

In October 2015, the District of Squamish amended the Fire Service Bylaw to restrict the use of consumer fireworks in the District to permitted times such as Halloween and New Year's Eve.

The July 1 Canada Day holiday is not a permitted celebration day for the issuance of fireworks permits due to the potential of interface fire risk and life safety issues. Please be advised that setting off consumer fireworks on Canada Day in Squamish is in contravention to the local bylaws and is subject to fines.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep our community safe. Fireworks can be enjoyed as a community as part of the Downtown Squamish Canada Day celebrations. The fireworks display will take place at 10 p.m. on Friday, July 1.
