The new park improves public connection to the waterfront from Downtown and features a pump track courtesy of the Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association, picnic tables and benches, and a beach launch for kayaks, canoes or paddleboards. The waterfront park will also be home to Brazilian artist Vik Muniz’s Vancouver Biennale art installation.

Thanks to the Province’s Sponsored Crown Grant Program, this property, valued at $3.6 million, was acquired at no cost to the District with the condition that it be used for municipal purposes. Note, that the current park is considered to be a temporary use in order to open it up as quickly as possible to the community. Long term visioning will take place prior to the District investing in full-scale remediation of the property.

The park is located between Victoria and Main Streets and can be accessed via the end of each street (across the rail line). Parking is available behind the U Siyam Pavilion on Main Street, or on Victoria Street.
