Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning through Sunday, January 30. Rain is expected to be heavy throughout the day. Total accumulations from Saturday/Sunday could be 50-70 mm.
A snowfall warning is also in effect for the Sea to Sky highway from Squamish to Whistler, with snow accumulation of 15 to 25 cm.
The storm will make for poor travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
