Annual sanitary and storm sewer flushing, video inspection and vapour testing - 2024

The District of Squamish has contracted C3 Mainline to conduct a sanitary and storm sewer inspection in Valleycliffe, Northyards, Downtown, and Dentville. The survey will consist of flushing and a video camera inspection to assess the condition of the pipe. Video inspection of these utilities allows the District to identify problems and plan for maintenance and repair works.

  • Testing will take place throughout the summer and early Fall.
  • Working hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday.

The scope of the work includes:

  • Opening existing manholes in roadways and easements;
  • Flushing and cleaning sanitary and storm sewers;
  • Inspecting manholes and inserting camera to video sewer pipe condition;
  • Restoring boulevard and road surface if necessary.

Residents should be aware that during the flushing and cleaning operations of the sanitary sewer mains, there is a chance that the additional pressure in the sewer can cause splashing of water in toilets at houses with inadequate venting. Any splashing that does occur is strictly from water in the toilets and not from actual sewage in the mains.

To minimize potential disruption, residents should keep their toilets flushed and toilet lids down.

Hand delivered notices will be provided to residences one week prior to any activity on each street. Homeowners are not required to be at home while this work is being done.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
