District of Squamish 2023 Annual Report released

The District of Squamish has published its 2023 Annual Report including 2023 accomplishments, 2024 and 2025 objectives, audited financial statements and permissive tax exemptions, written in accordance with the Community Charter. The 64-page report is now online at squamish.ca/budget-financial-statements-and-annual-reports. 

“This Annual Report encompasses one year of activity led by Council and staff,” says District of Squamish Mayor Armand Hurford. “It reflects our commitment to ongoing collaboration that cannot be achieved without the commitment of many groups and individuals. I would like to acknowledge the community leaders and volunteers who uplift our community in invaluable ways. It’s remarkable to see what kind of future we can create when we work together.”

The Annual Report reflects progress towards the objectives outlined in the District’s Strategic Plan, which identifies the highest priorities Council aims to achieve during its term. These objectives are categorized under four strategic outcomes: Connected and Livable Community; Resilient People and Relationships; Reliable Service Delivery; and Prepared for the Future.

Pursuant to sections 98 and 99 of the Community Charter, B.C. municipalities are required to produce an annual report before June 30 each year and to make the report available for public inspection. The annual report must include the following:

Council will receive the 2023 Annual Report at the Special Business Meeting on June 18, 2024. Members of the public can watch the Council meeting in person or view the live stream at squamish.ca/live-meetings.
