Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Work

Sanitary sewer repair work will take place in various locations around Squamish


September 27 to September 29

  • Government Rd (near Wain Pl in Brackendale) 
  • Dryden Rd (near corner of Macdonald Pl) 
  • Buckley Ave (near corner of Buckley/Garibaldi Ave heading north) 
  • Madill St (corner of Madill/Buckley heading east toward DOS Lift Station)
  • Buckley Ave (corner of Madill/Buckley heading south) 

Impact:

There will be minimal traffic disturbances during this work, with traffic flaggers, signage and traffic management plans in place. During the liner curing process, residents may see steam rising from the endpoint manholes in the immediate work area and smell a faint chemical odour in the air, this will be of short duration. Notices will be hand-delivered to affected residents and businesses.

Timeframe:
Last week of September and the first week of October. Typical work hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and traffic management plans in place.


September 4 to September 7 

  • Buckley Avenue north of Wilson Crescent
  • Mamquam Road west of Garibaldi Way
  • Guilford Drive west of Spruce Drive
  • Spruce Drive north of Guilford Drive

Impact

This work is low impact but watch for traffic control personnel and expect single lane alternating traffic. Work on Buckley Avenue will take place on Saturday, September 7 to minimize disruption to the school.  


June 26 to July 12:

  • June 26 - Contractor begins flushing and CCTV. Duration: Approximately 3 days
  • June 26 - Manhole grouting and trenchless repairs begin. Duration: Approximately 3 weeks.
  • July 12 - Excavated repairs begin. Duration: Approximately two weeks. 

This work will be of low impact to residents and businesses, primarily using trenchless repair methods however some open cut excavation will be required. The work is expected to continue through the end of July.

Typical work hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; some night work may be necessary. Notices will be hand delivered to affected residents and businesses.
