Proposed Bylaw 3089, 2024:

What's Proposed:

The proposed Amendment Bylaw is intended to:

  • Remove the limit of one accessory dwelling unit on a residential property in the R-1 zone.
  • Revise the density section of the R-1 Zone to clarify that the total number of strata titled dwelling units shall not exceed four units per lot.

 

Proposed Bylaw 3081, 2024:

What's Proposed:

The proposed Amendment Bylaw is intended to:

  • Update the landscaping requirements in the General Regulations
  • Require minimum tree planting and retention requirements in the R-1 Zone.
  • Update the lighting requirements in the General Regulations
  • Include minimum requirements for waste storage in residential developments
  • Update Accessibility definition and requirements.

Bylaw Readings

Consideration of first, second and third readings of the proposed Bylaw will be at the Regular Meeting of Council on July 2, 2024 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at Municipal Hall, 37955 Second Avenue, Squamish BC. No public hearing will be held for this application.

NO PUBLIC HEARING: In accordance with Provincial legislation, Section 464(2) of the Local Government Act, local governments are not required to hold public hearings on proposed zoning bylaw amendments if an Official Community Plan (OCP) is in effect and the zoning bylaw amendments are consistent with the OCP. This proposal meets those requirements.

A copy of the proposed bylaw and related information that has been or may be considered by Council may be inspected at Municipal Hall 37955 Second Avenue, Squamish, British Columbia, from June 20, 2024 to July 2, 2024 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
