Annual Bike to Work / School Week challenges Squamish residents to a car-free commute

Get ready to fasten your helmets and leave your car keys behind as the District of Squamish celebrates the return of Bike to Work / School Week, May 30 to June 5, 2016. The week-long campaign encourages residents of all ages to commute by bike to school or the workplace with the goal of converting your drive to a ride on a regular ongoing basis.

“We are fortunate to live in a bike-friendly community with safe and accessible bike trails and commuter routes,” says District of Squamish Mayor Patricia Heintzman. “By encouraging people to cycle to work, we are encouraging a healthier, more active lifestyle and reducing our carbon emissions.”

Residents are invited to participate in the following Bike to Work / School Week activities:

Bike to Work / School Week is also an opportunity to check the safety of your bike and to ensure your workplace has safe bike storage options for staff. For more information about Bike to Work / School Week visit their website.
