Guide to COVID-friendly public participation at Council Meetings

District of Squamish Council meetings and Public Hearings continue to be held electronically and live-streamed on squamish.ca. There are various ways to participate in Council’s electronic meeting in a COVID-friendly way, to ensure safety for all.

1) Participate online using the WebEx meeting platform. You can join the meeting here and click on the blue 'Join Now' button.

2) Watch the live stream at squamish.ca/live-meetings.

3) Participate by phone using the WebEx meeting platform. To join by phone simply call 604.449.3026 from your landline or mobile device and enter the meeting access code 146 367 8438. There is no participant ID.

4) Submit a written submission to council@squamish.ca. Please note that written submissions form part of the public record and will be included in the public Council Agenda package. For Public Hearings, submissions should be sent to hearing@squamish.ca and may also be delivered to Municipal Hall by 3 p.m. on the date of the Hearing, or submitted at the Hearing.

5) Limited in-person public participation** will be available for those who do not have the technological ability to watch or participate in the meeting from home, either online or by phone. A maximum of 30 people can watch the WebEx meeting from Brennan Park Recreation Centre (Stawamus Chief Auditorium) to ensure that sufficient physical distancing is maintained. A laptop will be available there to provide members of the public the opportunity to speak and address Council if required.

**Note: This is not an opportunity to interact in-person with Council, who will continue to participate remotely from different locations and will not be physically present at Brennan Park.

Download the detailed WebEx instructions, learn how to watch and participate in virtual Council meetings and Public Hearings and find upcoming Public Hearing dates and details at squamish.ca/public-hearings-and-meetings.
