District crews begin work on Little Stawamus Creek and adjacent trail

Crumpit Cruise work2

Work is set to begin on the Little Stawamus Creek along the Crumpit Creek Cruise trail (between Guilford Drive and McNaughton Park) to remove log jams and repair a section of the trail that is washed out. This work is being done in conjunction with the Squamish Trails Society and Cascade Environmental in order to improve fish passage, properly direct high water flows, and protect District infrastructure on Guilford Drive. This work has been permitted by the necessary agencies to allow access to the creek during August.

Crews will begin hauling rock and gravel starting August 7 along the trail from Guilford Drive in preparation for the work. Work on the creek will begin August 12.

Watch for flagging crews on the trail and adjacent roads while driving in the area. Any road delays should be less then five minutes. McNaughton Park will not be impacted.

Please do not access the trail as there will be heavy equipment working in the area.

Thank you.
