District of Squamish Economic Development office unveils innovative new online presence

One-stop-shop resource will help businesses launch, grow and invest in Squamish

The District of Squamish Economic Development Office has launched a comprehensive online resource centre to help businesses access information about the local economy, customers and competition. The improved micro-site features practical information and inspiration to help businesses start, grow, invest and thrive in Squamish, as well as a new resource centre with a comprehensive list of third-party and District business tools and intelligence.

“Knowledge and data is an essential aspect of supporting economic development, and we are excited to reveal this enhanced resource to the community,” says District of Squamish Mayor Patricia Heintzman. “These online tools will equip Squamish’s existing and prospective diverse business community with insightful resources to make sound business decisions and investments in Squamish.”

New interactive tools offer a convenient one-stop-shop for accessing a wide-range of relevant market information. They also provide how-to information so that businesses can ask the right questions, analyze data correctly, and make better-informed business decisions.

“The new site features practical information on permitting, taxes, grants and incentives, all in an easy-to-digest format, while also providing tools and resources to help local businesses research ideas, the local market, hire talent, innovate, grow and prosper,” says District of Squamish Economic Development Officer Kate Mulligan. “We’re looking forward to receiving feedback from local businesses on the site’s value and how we can continuously improve our information, tools and resources.”

Seven new web tools developed by award-winning Canadian technology firm, Localintel, provides entrepreneurs and small businesses with up-to-date information about the local market, including business climate data, industry-specific information, and competition analysis.

The District of Squamish Economic Development Office (EDO) provides information and services to help businesses launch, invest and grow. The EDO promotes economic development by attracting new investment, supporting and assisting existing businesses, and enhancing the Squamish business climate.
