District of Squamish on high alert during current weather event

Updated December 9, 2014:

The District of Squamish Operations and Engineering Departments continue to be on high alert for localized flooding as we deal with the excessive rain and high tides. Please contact Operations at 604-815-6868 or the 24 hour emergency line 604-815-4040 with any concerns or reports of flooding.

Please exercise caution around waterways and stay off the dikes. Be aware of high stream flow and possible bank erosion, and keep well back from the water's edge throughout our community.
Sandbags are available at the Public Works yard and sand is available up on the entrance to the dike behind the Works yard for those that may be concerned with localized flooding.
