High fire danger causes restriction on certain construction activities

Updated July 5, 2017: The District of Squamish remains in a HIGH fire hazard, and as such, certain construction and high risk activities may need to cease if within the wildland interface. Such high risk activities can include excavating, drilling and grinding.

Construction project managers may contact Squamish Fire Rescue for more information and to discuss their projects and appropriate measures at 604.898.9666. Details and activities that may be affected are available here.

*The information released Friday, June 30 incorrectly stated that the fire danger level was Extreme. The fire danger level was High, not yet Extreme.
