High Streamflow Advisory and Cheakamus Dam Spill Notice have ended

The River Forecast Centre has ended the High Streamflow Advisory for the Squamish and Stawamus Rivers and Howe Sound. BC Hydro has also ended the Spill Notice for the Cheakamus Dam, with spill levels returning to normal.

Rain and snowmelt earlier in the week has now passed through river systems in the region. Flows are expected to continue to recede Friday and into the weekend. Additional rainfall is expected over the weekend, but at this time forecasted flows are not expected to return to levels of concern.

The River Forecast Centre will continue to monitor conditions and update this advisory as conditions warrant.
