New COVID-19 Restrictions Include Squamish

The provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry has announced significant new COVID-19 restrictions for the next two weeks for the Vancouver Coastal Health region. The orders are effective as of 10 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020.

Squamish is listed as a community that is included in the restrictions, even though "Howe Sound" is exempt.

The new orders focus on social gatherings, travel, indoor group exercises and workplaces. The new orders include no social interactions outside of immediate households, and no indoor group physical activities for two weeks.

Dr. Henry's press conference and her plea to British Columbians to work together to re-flatten the curve starts at 6:20 in this video.

More information will be shared soon with regards to District of Squamish activities at Brennan Park Recreation Centre as District staff are currently reviewing the health orders and putting the necessary plans in place.
