New Squamish Recreation Services registration booking system launches November 1

Mobile-friendly system offers advanced search features, improved technology

The District of Squamish is launching a new online and mobile-friendly registration system for all Squamish Recreation Services programs and activities. The new user-friendly system is fast, flexible and easy to use with enhanced features that will allow customers to create their own passwords, search programs by topic or age category, and access family member’s account details with ease. Beginning November 1, existing Recreation Services account holders are encouraged to create an account in the new system. A new account will be required in order to register for Winter 2022 programs, as SquamishLive.ca Login ID and Family PINs will be retired along with the SquamishLive system.

“The District has systematically been upgrading outdated and end-of-life software across the organization and this new registration system is part of that effort,” says District of Squamish Mayor Karen Elliott. “The introduction of this mobile-friendly registration system is a key component of our efforts to always improve the service we offer to our residents and the way they access the programs and services they love. The new system also delivers significant improvements and efficiencies to the way staff work behind the scenes.”

Key Dates:

Identified within the District’s multi-year Technology Transformation Project to overhaul and modernize software systems across the organization, the new software will form a technology foundation that will help Recreation staff meet and exceed the demands for easy-to-use and efficient online services, while improving operational efficiency. B.C.-based software provider PerfectMind, an activity registration, facility booking, and membership management platform for municipalities, parks and recreation organizations, was chosen to replace the District’s end-of-life recreation software system in 2020. The new system will bring all of the District’s recreation information, program registration and payment options online and to a mobile device. In addition to the customer benefits, the new digital tools will give staff the flexibility to make changes to program information, bookings and user accounts in real time.

'How To' guides and support materials will launch on November 1 to help customers create an account within the new registration system.  A list of Frequently Asked Questions will also be available that day to provide answers to some of the common questions that are anticipated. Customer service staff will be on hand to answer any questions during regular business hours. All materials will be available on Squamish.ca/rec.

For anyone unable to access the online registration system, program registration will continue to be available via customer service staff at Brennan Park by calling 604.898.3604 or visiting the customer service desk.
