Detour and resident water reduction requested during emergency Queens Way sanitary sewer work

(January 14, 2023, 10:30 a.m.)

District of Squamish crews are on scene at the Queens Way sanitary lift station where emergency work is underway. A main manhole has deteriorated, and emergency procedures are in place with the aim to set up a bypass system around this lift station. The lift station is located at Queens Way and Pioneer Way.

Traffic Impacts

Queens Way has been closed between Aspen Road and Pioneer Way to facilitate the work. Please use Highway 99 if possible. A detour is in place through CN property with their permission, though the road is quite rough.

Squamish Transit buses are running as usual through the detour.

Businesses in the area remain open and are accessible.

Wastewater from the North Yards, and neighbourhoods south of the Industrial Park, including Downtown, Dentville, Valleycliffe and all others flow through this station.

It would help immensely if residents could reduce or hold off the following activities temporarily until the bypass is in place:

Thank you for your assistance. We will further update you as this situation evolves.
