Rainfall Accumulation Special Weather Statement Issued

 Howe Sound, B.C. (082500)

Current details:
A frontal system west of the offshore waters over the Pacific will be rapidly intensifying today as it approaches the BC coast.

As the frontal system reaches the BC north and central coasts later today and overnight into Monday it rapidly moves south. By Monday afternoon the system stalls over west Vancouver Island and upwards of 100 to 150 mm of rainfall accumulation could occur through until Tuesday morning.

Over the south coast, the frontal system will become entrenched overnight Monday and through until Tuesday afternoon. During that time, accumulations of 50 to 75 mm could be expected to fall over north and central metro Vancouver regions as well as Howe Sound.
