Rainfall warning in effect for Howe Sound

A rainfall warning is in effect for Howe Sound with total rainfall amounts of up to 75 mm expected throughout tonight, Friday, September 21. 

A Pacific low pressure system slowly approaching Vancouver Island will spread occasionally heavy rain throughout the south coast today. Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 75 mm are expected from this system. The rain is forecast to ease on Saturday as the low moves inland.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Please watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
