Smoke Bluffs Park work resumes September 3
BC Hydro has informed the District that work will begin Tuesday, September 3 on the replacement of two transmission structures in Smoke Bluffs Park.
These structure replacements will be completed via helicopter and will require the closure of climbing crags #9 (Runestone Wall), #11 (Boulder Gully) and #46 (Crag X).
Intermittent closures of approximately 5 minutes will be required. Traffic control personnel will be on site for the duration of the work; please pay close attention to signage and flagging personnel if using the park.
The area may be reopened during the weekends, however, the crags directly underneath and beside the structures will remain closed for the weekends.
This work is weather dependent and is expected to be complete by September 20.
