Spring-cleaning Squamish: Annual Pitch-In Week returns April 17-23

Gather a group, get outside and “pitch-in” to do your part when Canada’s largest environmental improvement campaign, Pitch-In Week, gets underway from April 17-23, 2016.

More than 660 volunteers have already registered to take part in the week-long campaign which aims to clean-up and restore the environment by removing litter and other garbage from urban, rural and wilderness areas.

“Pitch-In Week is an opportunity for every Squamish resident to do something small that will have a big impact,” says District of Squamish Mayor Patricia Heintzman. “Collectively, we can make a difference and demonstrate how much we care about our community and our incredible natural environment. We are proud to join thousands of communities and groups across the country for this important environmental initiative.”

Residents are invited to take part in these Pitch-In Week events:

The Squamish Lillooet Regional District has issued a friendly 20-minute challenge to its member municipalities to clean up litter in their areas. Help us raise awareness by posting photos of your own cleanup efforts to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and tagging the friends you’d like to challenge.
