Squamish Business Resilience Program launched to support widespread business recovery

The District of Squamish, in partnership with entrepreneur accelerator Spring Activator and technology-driven not-for-profit Discovery Foundation has launched the Squamish Business Resilience Program aimed at supporting Squamish businesses in their recovery from closures and other impacts related to COVID-19. The free online program helps businesses to evaluate their current business, identify their ‘new normal,’ create a plan to survive, and take necessary  action to thrive.

"We recognize the various challenges that our local business community is experiencing this year in the wake of COVID-19," says District of Squamish Mayor Karen Elliott. "This program acts as a guidebook to recovery that can be implemented by Squamish businesses across various industry sectors and it is our hope that by making this program accessible in our community that we are providing another option to help smooth the path to recovery. "

Once registered in the program, Squamish businesses will have access to the course content for a six-month period. Businesses can complete the program at their own individual pace and select the content that is most appropriate based on their current needs. Each lesson includes a video outlining the core content, along with a worksheet and resource guide. Businesses will also have access to an online community platform which offers resources, and the opportunity to communicate with local entrepreneurs, as well as Economic Development staff  and partner members.

The Squamish Business Resilience Program is held in partnership with the Squamish Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Squamish and the Downtown Squamish Business Improvement Association. For more information or to register, visit squamish.ca/squamish-business-resilience-program
