Squamish donations being collected for Whistler's Alpine townhouse fire

The District of Squamish is very saddened to hear about Tuesday's Whistler townhouse fire that has displaced dozens of our neighbouring residents. Two Squamish donation drop-off locations have been set-up to collect much-needed items for those affected. Donations can be dropped off at Nesters Market - Squamish or at Brennan Park Recreation Centre (open Remembrance Day until 3:30 p.m. and then back to regular hours Thursday).

Reasonable to good quality donations are being requested, and those in need span a variety of demographics from young families to young adults to those who have lived there for decades. Clothing and hygiene items are accepted. A community Facebook page has been set up to further identify specific needs.

Financial donations are also being collected via the Community Foundation of Whistler.

Additional information is available via the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
