Squamish not impacted by current Tsunami Advisory

A Tsunami Advisory has been issued for parts of the BC coast due to a volcanic eruption in Tonga which has generated a series of strong waves. It will be in effect for many hours. 

Squamish is part of Zone E which is NOT part of the Tsunami Advisory area. 

Zone E, which covers South West coastal communities including Squamish, is not currently included in the Tsunami Advisory. The District is  being advised of the situation and will be updated if anything changes by Emergency Management BC.
