Wildfire east of Squamish 100% contained

August 31, 11:30 a.m.

The fire remains 100% contained. The Forest Service Road is open, with checkpoints in place. Crews remain on site and will continue to watch for hot spots throughout the long weekend. 

August 30, 11 a.m.

The BC Wildfire Service has informed us that the fire located 13 kilometres along the Mamquam Forest Service Road is 100% contained. The fire is being held, and crews are pushing the perimeter into the cutblock. Full resources will remain on site today and tomorrow. Our deepest thanks go out to the crews that are working so hard to fight this fire!
