Dike vegetation maintenance management begins November 14 on the Mamquam River Dike along the north shore of the river. The trail marked in red in the map below will be closed during the week in order to accommodate the work.
In order to retain the ongoing integrity of flood protection infrastructure, activities will include brush and tree removal from the rip rap and crest of the dike. The environmental guidelines for Vegetation Management on Flood Protection Works to Protect Public Safety and the Environment will be followed to establish the vegetation management on the dike.
