What's proposed:

Woodfibre LNG temporary floatel. Temporary Use Permit No. 76

Proposed Temporary Uses:

To allow for a temporary floating worker accommodation (floatel) use on the property outlined in black on the Location Map below, for a period of three years. The floatel will consist of 652 private rooms with ensuite washrooms, central cooking, dining and recreation facilities.

DISTRICT LOT 8296, GROUP 1 located at Woodfibre, Squamish BC

How to View the Proposed Temporary Use Permit

A copy of the proposed Temporary Use Permit and related information that has been or may be considered by Council may be inspected online or at Municipal Hall - 37955 Second Avenue, Squamish, British Columbia, from April 11 to 23, 2024 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays.

Persons who believe that their interest in property is affected by the proposed Temporary Use Permit will have an opportunity to be heard in person and to provide written submissions.

Ways to participate:

  1. In person:

    You may participate in person during this public input opportunity at Brennan Park Recreation Centre (gymnasium), 1009 Centennial Way, Squamish, B.C. Comments must be relevant to the Temporary Use Permit under consideration.

    A Speakers List will be established. You may register to speak in advance of the public hearing by emailing phspeakerslist@squamish.ca or by calling 604.892.5217. You can also register in person on the day of the hearing, between 5:15 pm and 6 pm at the Brennan Park Recreation Centre (gymnasium entrance).

    Everyone will be provided an opportunity to speak. Speakers will be limited to three minutes per speaking opportunity. Those not on the Speakers List who wish to provide comments at the hearing will be provided an opportunity to speak after everyone on the Speakers List has addressed Council.

    *Please note that due to technical capacity considerations and in order to ensure a fair and undisrupted hearing, electronic and phone-in participation will not be available.

  2. In Writing

    If you are unable to attend the public hearing, or do not wish to speak at the hearing, you can still participate in this public input opportunity by submitting your written comments to hearing@squamish.ca.

    You may also deliver written comments to Municipal Hall before 4:30 pm on April 23, 2024 to the attention of the Corporate Officer.

    Written submissions will be accepted up to and during the hearing and will form part of the public record. Any submissions received after the close of the hearing cannot be considered by Council.
