Parks & Recreation Master Plan

Final Plan Now Available

The Final Parks and Recreation Master Plan is now available for review.

Project process

In January 2012, the District of Squamish initiated the Parks and Recreation Master Plan project. The project includes:

  1. An assessment of the District’s parks and recreation facilities, programs, and infrastructure,
  2. Public consultation, and,
  3. The creation of a Master Plan to guide the development of services and facilities over the next twenty years.

The Plan will reinforce Squamish’s identity as the ‘Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada.’

How can you participate?

If you have any questions, please contact the District at enaisby@squamish.ca.

Stakeholder Interviews: Recreation groups in the community had the opportunity to liaise with the planning team, providing their perspective on recreation services and facilities in Squamish, and contributing to the plan. Further stakeholder meetings may be arranged with certain interest groups on a case by case basis.

Public Forums: The project includes three public forums, in March, June and October.

The various telephone and online surveys are now closed. Results compiled from pre-June surveys can be found in the June public forum Power Point presentation.
