SCHOOL OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE 2013 GRADUATE STUDIO PROJECTS
The UBC School of Landscape Architecture graduate students’ studio assignment was to define a physical ‘problem statement’ in Squamish, and then develop landscape architecture solutions for those problems. Ideas included everything from safe and developed sidewalks for the public, to more local green produce for the community in order to encourage youth in Squamish to live a healthier lifestyle.Other ideas included ways to improve vacant lots downtown, improvement of storm water management, proposed concepts for the West Barr Log Sort, and a Mamquam greenway connecting the Mamquam River landscape down through Loggers Lane to the estuary.
